Beth’s fight against cancer

Donation protected
Beth was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in August of 2016. On September 11  2016 she went to the hospital with shortness of breath. She went into cardiac arrest right in front of me (a sight I will never forget). She was diagnosed with a massive pulmonary embolism. I was told she had a 1% chance she would survive. After a clot buster drug was administer and 2 hours of CPR I was told it was over, until somehow she came back to life. I was told there was no explanation as to how she came back to life, but she did. I was told that there would probably be physical and neurological damage, but it turned out there was none. Moving forward she has continued chemo hoping for surgery soon. Meanwhile her disability insurance was enough to cover her medical insurance and that’s about it. Her FMLA ran out and her disability is about to run out, now we are at risk of her insurance ending.  I can switch insurance to my employer and at least keep us covered, but going from a two income family to one has left many bills unpaid. We now face collections on credit cards and now medical out of pocket expenses are piling up and will double if we switch insurance. The fight against cancer and the embolism was hard enough and it’s nowhere near over, but now we also have the fight to keep our home and everything we worked so hard to acquire. #TEAMBETHSTRONG
