On January 17, 2018, my sister, Beth, passed out, fell, and broke her right hip. Unknowingly, this was just the beginning of a plethora of ailments that needed healing. My husband, Kevin and I, took her to the Emergency Room in Abingdon, VA, on Thursday. Upon arrival, the wonderful doctors and nurses, worked feverously to warm her body temperature, take x-rays of her hip, help her to breathe better, and treat a host of other infirmities. After many tests, doctors found that Beth had contracted three types of pneumonia, developed sepsis, was hypothermic, was put on a ventilator, and now a trach. She has been in the CCU of Johnson Memorial Hospital for three weeks. Her hip has been fixed. She is getting better each day. In the next couple of days, she will be transferred to the Select Unit at Bristol Hospital. There, she will receive occupational, physical, and speech therapy. The goal is for the trach to come out totally. Three or four weeks later, she will be sent to a rehab facility. Needless to say, a long road of recovery ahead. She will not be able to go back to work for at least 3-4 months. She is one of the two breadwinners in their household. We ask for your help during this season for bills and expsenses that have arisen during Beth's time of infirmity. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
Gratefully,
Keith (her husband), Bethany (her daughter), sisters-Janet Ross and Nancy Campbell and our families
