Hi! Welcome to Bethany's Fight Club. This is a site where I can share my treatment milestones, post updates, and pencil things on the calendar that I might need help with (rides, meals, entertaining my kids, and maybe just taking my husband out golfing for a break from it all). 

As most of you know, I am a 34-year-old mom of two: 2-year-old Tate and 6-month-old Airlie; a realtor; a creative thinker; and a freelance writer. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma on April 25, 2019. Unfortunately this means it's in my lymph nodes, so we have to attack it with the aggressive measures. Around the first of June I'll begin chemo, which will last 20 weeks. After chemo, I'll get a month break and then have surgery - either a single or double mastectomy, and then a few weeks later start radiation to target my affected lymph nodes - and really make sure the cancer has been evicted. Finally, I'll undergo reconstructive surgery (age 34 is too young to give up on the fun of cleavage). 

I'm getting treatment at UCHealth (most of my treatments will be at Anschutz), and working with a doctor who specializes in post-partum cancer (it's a real phenomenon among young women who have just had babies - look up Dr. Virginia Borges). My team is amazing, and I'm feeling very positive about the outcomes. 

I can't thank you enough for your love and support during this time. If you know me, you know I don't love asking for help, but I'm also aware that for the next year or so, I'm going to need all the help I can get! Nick, Tate, Airlie, Karma and I love you all so much and appreciate every single effort.
