Help Beth Beat Cancer

Donation protected
Family and friends,

Please donate to help Beth beat cancer! The past month has been difficult as our dear friend Beth, Bethy, B, BABs was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer is Sarcoma - high grade small round cell and was on her left shoulder. It's an aggressive soft tissue cancer. She had surgery on March 10th to remove the growth. In order for the shoulder to fully heal prior to Chemo, Beth had an additional cosmetic surgery on April 7th.

Beth has met with an oncologist and I'm not going to sugar coat the situation, it's going to be a tough year. HOWEVER, it's important to note this should not be looked at as a lengthy process but by taking one step, one day at a time. I have complete confidence Beth will make it through this and come out on top, along with friends and family. She's in good spirits considering and is rolling with the punches. She's a tough girl and that's what fighters do.

So here's the process: surgery on April 7th and recover/heal for 2-3 wks. Have a Chemo port put in on April 28th. Start her first cycle on May 2nd. She will get 17 cycles of Chemo which will take 9-10 months. For each cycle, she will be in the hospital 2-5 days. She will have 21 days between each cycle, so 3 weeks. They will be switching between two types of Chemo. 3 of the 17 cycles may be Radiation. She should be able to work in between cycles. She is nervous about potentially missing 75-85 days of work. She does have FMLA leave and some of her co-workers have been graciously donating some of their days to her.

Beth just wants to carry on and live like every other day. She is nervous about losing her hair. However, she is rather excited about having wig parties and certainly knows it will grow back.
The oncologist is also concerned with her reproductive system, so she will also be going through the fertility process. She is nervous about the whole children situation because of the risk, but is staying positive. She is so thankful for all of the love and support she has received since she found out this terrible news.

Many people have asked what they may "do" for Beth. Well here it is: you may donate whatever you can to help support her and alleviate some of the stress that no one talks about, the financial stress. Our ambitious goal will help to defray the cost of the medical bills and time that she is unable to work. If you want to take it one step further and do something more, please forward this page to your friends and family and ask if they will help her too. Beth is now aware of this page, so please feel free to spread the word. Anything that you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Please continue to keep Beth in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all for your love and support!
