Best Street in Beverley Dance Marathon!

Tax deductible
If you are not part of the Molescroft Primary school family, you may not know that each year the staff and pupils work together to put on amazing shows, run stalls and organise special events as part of a charity fundraising campaign.  Due to the current situation, this year it will clearly be very different. Following meetings with the Pupil Council and Mrs Wood, it has been agreed that this year the school’s chosen charity will be MacMillan Cancer Support in the name and in memory of Mr Wood.

For those reading who may not be a member of the Molescroft School community, we have recently mourned the loss of a remarkable teacher. Martin Wood was incredibly loved and such a creative force in the school for many years. In the words of Headteacher, Mr Loncaster, “the spirit of Martin Wood will always be with us. His legacy is built into the foundations of what it is to be a ‘mole’ and lives in the hearts of all who worked with him and every pupil he taught.”

You may remember our lockdown street dance performances over the summer. Several of the street members are pupils at Molescroft Primary School, we even dedicated one special dance to Mr Wood. Together, we will be raising money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support by performing a marathon of all 16 street dances. We aim to perform each dance one after the other in a Covid secure manner in one of our greatest performances yet!

The show will commence (weather and regulations permitting) on Saturday 14th November 2020 and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

Watch out for a live stream of the performance on the day!

There are around 367,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, that’s around 1000 each day. Thank you for helping us to make a difference.
