Those are the shocking, horrific words we are all still trying to wrap our heads around -- devastating words that are now a part of our friend Berni's every-day life.
Cervical cancer,
A treatment plan has been established (radiation, surgery), and it is going to be a long road. Traviling to Denver for all her medical needs at this time Durango does not have a Gynecologic Oncologist in town. Berni works for a local Doctors office in Durango where helps many in our community; now we are asking our community to help her.
Berni and her husband Brandon have a three-year-old son, Corbin and a four-month-old daughter, Kitai. Brandon is currently employed but works mostly out of town. Due to her hectic schedule both work and family; she is getting really tired and hard to get time for her to rest .
We her friends and family are asking please help us get this wonderful women through this, every donation gets the family one step closer to meet the financial demands of daily life and cancer treatments.
Berni has always been a very healthy, active, and independent person. It is frustrating for her to be so physically limited, and heartbreaking for us to see her this way .Please help us help her.
The money raised here will go toward the family's living expenses and Berni's medical bills. Any and all donations, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference in Berni, Brandon, Corbin and Kitai's lives!
(As just one example, they are traveling around 400 miles to and from the hospital where she is receiving treatments (800 miles total for each hospital visit) -- $30 would cover the cost of gas for one trip!)
