Bernie Cobb Memorial Fund
Bernard “Bernie” Arthur Cobb, age 83, passed away September 29, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on February 25, 1937 in Niagara Falls, NY, Bernie spent most of his life in Loudoun County, VA. He was raised by Caroline Jackson and John D. Jackson, along with six siblings. Bernie worked for a government contractor as an Electrical Engineer on U.S. and international contracts. Over the course of his time as a contractor, he lived and worked in Virginia, Hawaii, Japan, India, and Germany.
Bernie leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara Gum Cobb, his three children John Cobb, Pam Smith (Pete), Terri Stocks (Kenny), his three grandchildren (whom fondly called him “Pops”), Stephanie Gwak (Daniel), Jordan Smith (Miranda), and Mary Kate Stocks, as well as his great-grandson, Parker Gwak.
Bernie was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for fishing, golfing, bowling, and billiards. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. Anyone that knew Bernie will remember him for his competitive nature and perfectionism, and that he would never shy from a friendly bet. He had a zest for life but never wavered in his values or beliefs- he was a genuine straight shooter and will be tremendously missed.
Due to a severe fall in late August, Bernie spent a significant amount of time in the hospital and in a rehabiIitation facility. The family would like to collect donations to help his wife, Barbara, by offsetting the costs of his recent medical care and other expenses that she will be taking on.
