Bernadeen has stage 4 cancer

I would like to tell you about my grandmother, Bernadeen Wigman Luedtke. She is the most generous, caring, and loving woman I know. She has always put her family's, friends', and even strangers' needs above her own. Bernadeen gives to many charities, causes, and has been sponsoring a child in Costa Rica for the past 15 years. My grandmother had breast cancer 14 years ago and had a mastectomy and endured chemotherapy and radiation. This put the cancer in remission. Another one of Bernadeen's passions is singing. She has been active in her church choirs over the past 50 years, right up until this May when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Bone Cancer that is affecting numerous bones in her body. In late May she has an emergency surgery to strengthen her right femur and is now in a second skilled nursing/rehab facility recovering and receiving physical therapy to regain some strength.
As I mentioned earlier, my grandmother has never backed down from helping others, however it is she that needs help now. Many of the ongoing treatments for the cancer and the extended stay in skilled nursing/rehab are not covered by insurance, resulting in high medical costs coming out of pocket. Once Bernadeen is strong enough to leave the rehab facility, the goal is to reunite her with her husband, Ron, and move them into an Assisted Living Facility. Ron has some medical conditions also and is unable to take care of grandma on his own. These facilities are well above their financial means due to the mounting medical bills,however, it is no longer an option for them to live independently.
