New Heart For Berlyn
Berlyn was born 17 weeks early. During his 6 month NICU stay he caught a virus that attacked his heart causing Dilated Cardiomyopathy. At a year old we were told by our local cardiologist that his condition was too severe for the care she could offer. We were referred to Dallas or Houston as they have a heart failure/ transplant team. Over the last few years we have been driving back and forth for our appointments and any hospitalizations. We have been able to manage the disease up until the last year and halfish. Berlyn has been hospitalized every other month for what i call “tune ups” his heart hasn’t been tolerating the fluids he gets so he will start to retain fluid and have trouble keeping his oxygen up. Our last hospitalization we decided it was time to start the transplant evaluation process. Once we are listed for a heart transplant we have to be within an hour of the hospital at all times. Since we live over 3 hours away we will be moving our family to Houston. We are hoping to raise money for rent and expenses. We also hope to gain as many prayer warriors as possible! I
