Ben’s Big Art Box

Donation protected

Benjamin James Klooster (my nephew) was born on 12/21/2011 - he lit up our world and brought us so much joy.

In November of 2014, Ben was diagnosed withRhabdomyosarcoma - a soft tissue cancer behind his left eye. Ben bravely fought this cancer (even beat it once) for over 3 years. Our sweet boy went to be with Jesus on January 5, 2018. We miss him everyday.

In honor of Ben, his parents, Pete and Amy, started Ben’s Big Art Box. Anyone who knew Ben knew how much he loved art - it seemed to be somewhat of an escape for him. Each year, they gather as many art supplies as they possibly can and donate them to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital, where Ben had his treatment.

In the past, we’ve been able to do a lot of in person donations - but this year with Covid-19 and social distancing we are getting a little
more creative. This gofundme will be a contactless way to contribute, and we will use the funds to purchase art supplies before drop off day.

Every year, this makes my heart smile - knowing that Ben would LOVE to see the amount of art supplies occupying his family’s basement.  So grateful for our sweet Ben and all that he was to us - and we hope to continue his legacy with endless art supplies
