Benny was adopted in a Walmart parking lot 13 years ago when I was about 18 years old and became my best friend and rock for all of my adult life. He has always been a happy, calm, and loving animal to everyone and any other creature he came across. Over the last couple months the inevitable has caught up to us and Benny (91 in dog years) has been diagnosed with a mass near/on his spleen that is causing a rapid decline, surgery unfortunately is not a reasonable choice for a dog his age as recovery time and quality of life afterward are not promised.
He can no longer walk without assistance or a mobility device and has been in and out of the vet for the last month to get answers about how long we may have together. Keeping him comfortable and ensuring he has a comfortable and loving goodbye in my lap at home with the help of “Laps of Love” is all that I can give him at this time.
I’m hoping to raise funds to help with the costs of his treatment, additional ultrasound, pay back my amazing friends who have stepped in to make sure he has everything he needs at this time. (Wheelchairs, ect) and most importantly ensure he can cross the rainbow bridge safely and comfortably in my lap at home instead of a cold vet clinic where I may not be able to be present.
I take pride in not asking for help but the honest truth is that this is an unexpected situation that I was not properly prepared for so anything and everything helps.
Funds will be used to pay for
• Multiple vet visits totaling over $400 each that led to his diagnosis
• Pain management and bleeding control medication costs
• Wheelchair cost
• At home euthanize, cremation , handling costs via Laps of Love <—- you can click the link
