Bennett's Big Battle Against Cancer

This page has been started to help some of my sweetest friends, Sterling and Ashley (who are much more like family than friends) and their sweet boy Bennett. Bennett is only two years old and fighting bigger battles than some of use ever will. 

Last May Bennett had an MRI of his brain done, which turned into a MRI of his spine, that showed a “widened cervical spine” and it needed to be watched. In November the widened area had turned into a tumor which we found out about in Decemeber. January 5th 2017, Bennett had a laminectomy to remove the tumor in his spinal cord at C4-C5. The biopsy showed us that it was a Grade II Diffuse Astrocytoma. 
 
In April, Bennett returned for another MRI, the results showing that the tumor was back. Earlier this month Bennett had surgery to place a port. On that same day he started his first treatment of chemotherapy (Vinblastine) . He will have chemo every week for the next year. 


As you can see even though Bennett is a little man fighting a HUGE battle, he is still our sweet, happy, rambuncious "Bean" (a nickname he has had since before he was born.)  Along with Bennett,  his family is also fighting a battle to ensure he has the absolute best care possible both at home and while at the hospital.
