Benjamin Burdett Medical Fund

Ben Burdett had a spontaneous, massive hemorrhagic stroke on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 while home on winter break from college. He is just 19-years-old. This was completely and utterly unexpected and was due to an undiagnosed vascular malformation in his brain that he has most likely had since birth. He was emergently transferred to the University of Louisville, where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in the ICU in serious condition and has now had three major surgeries on his brain so far. He will need at least one more surgery and, if he continues to improve, require months of intense physical therapy, both inpatient (initially) and outpatient to try to recover his speech, ability to swallow, and motor function of his right side.

Many of you have asked how you can help. As Ben's loving aunt, I am creating this page so that if you wish to help Ben and his family, you can donate any amount you wish to go toward his medical care and his family's costs for food at the hospital and gas to drive the hour to Louisville and back home nearly every day.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support. No amount is insignificant; anything you wish to contribute is greatly appreciated.

Please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers in the coming months.
