Benefitting Blind Brinkley

Brinkley the blind super kitty has never let his circumstances get him down. Whether it’s being born blind, finding himself alone as a scared homeless kitten on the streets or even facing a really scary surgery, he’s our superhero! Please help us raise funds to cover the cost of Brinkley’s recent surgery and recovery care. He, along with other Tails High cats with very high cost medical bills, thank you from the bottom of their hearts.

Brinkley’s story:
Five years ago when Brinkley was just a month old, he was found in a storm drain at Fort Belvoir.  A good samaritan got him to Tails High who discovered little Brinkley was blind. Since that time his eyes were removed and he has been living happily with his medical foster family in Annandale, VA.


A few weeks ago Brinkley became ill.  He wasn't eating, he became lethargic, and started vomiting.  Initially it was thought he had a bout of Pancreatitis.  However, after several extensive and costly tests it was discovered Brinkley had a foreign object where his small and large intestines meet. The only way to address the problem was with urgent surgery. 


Just after his diagnosis, Brinkley was prepped for surgery which revealed a large hairball had formed and was blocking his intestines. The veterinarian was able to remove the hairball and assess his intestines to make sure they were healthy. A swollen lymph node was also removed to ensure there were no other medical conditions. 


After three days in the veterinary hospital, Brinkley went home. Currently he is doing very well, although his medical bills were rather expensive. Support from the public is vital in assisting Tails High to help cats like Brinkley.
