<div>Yesterday at approximately 1030 a.m. three Wayne County Deputies responded to a home in in Dudley, NC in an effort to serve involuntary commitment paperwork. Upon arrival, the suspect opened fire, striking all three Deputies, who have been identified by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office as Sergeant Matthew Fishman (38 years old), Corporal Andrew Cox (37) and Deputy Ramon Torres (27). This morning (08/02/2022) it was reported that Sergeant Fishman has succumbed to his injuries. Cpl. Cox and Deputy Torres remain in stable condition.
