Benefit for the Family of Officer Torres

On Thursday afternoon, 10/13/2022, several Raleigh Police Officers and other agencies responded to an active shooter situation in the area of the Neuse River Greenway near Osprey Drive and Bay Harbor Drive. It was confirmed that an off-duty Officer was among several shot and killed in the east Raleigh neighborhood.
During a press conference with Raleigh city officials it was confirmed by Raleigh Police Chief Patterson that the officer shot and killed was 29 year-old Gabriel Torres. Officer Torres was off of duty at the time but was on his way to work. It is believed, but not confirmed, that officer Torres leaves behind a wife and 2 year old Daughter. We are currently awaiting confirmation on his surviving family members. Another Officer was shot in the leg and has since then been treated at WakeMed Hospital and released. We are asking you keep the Raleigh Police Department in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic time.
