Dear friends!

I am extremely excited to announce that Johannes, Daniel and I are going to record an amazing album of virtuoso alto cantatas by Benedetto Marcello, a very interesting Venetian composer. 

It is going to contain six cantatas, of which five have never been recorded before, and one of them has been recorded only once twenty years ago – so it is quite a juicy premiere! The cantatas are incredibly interesting, some with a crazy range of two octaves (!), surely written to make Marcello's wife Rosanna shine in them – she was famous for her huge tessitura, as she was able to sing tenor to soprano!

The CD will also contain the fantastic cantata "La Lucrezia", which has exactly the same text as Handel's version, but the music is completely different! Very striking!

I have prepared personally the edition of the manuscripts, and I am also delighted to record together with my dear colleagues Johannes Keller and Daniel Rosin – I have been singing, recording and performing with them for many years, so the chemistry is fantastic!

We will record the CD near Basel during the first week of March 2020.

Recording a CD without the support of a recording contract or sponsors is very expensive. It is a big sacrifice and a lot of savings are used in order to produce something that is supposed to last forever and be a thing of beauty!

To give you an idea of the costs, I have to pay for the sound engineer/producer's exceptional work (our beloved engineer who recorded Passo di pena in pena!), his journey and hotel, food and per diem costs for the musicians, renting the venue... I must be able to get at least 6.000EUR to make it feasible, to which I will add my savings, so I am asking for your help :)

All donors' names will be mentioned in the libretto!
Donors for 125€ or more will receive a signed copy of the album!
