Hi there! My name is Hannah Barstow; I’m a pianist, vocalist and composer based in Toronto. I am very excited to officially announce the inception of my forthcoming album: Beneath. Over the past two years, I have been writing music of which I am truly proud and have created a collection of songs that I feel represent me as a musician and as a person. This experience is what inspired the title of the album—it will take you on a journey “beneath” the surface of Hannah. I am thrilled that I will soon be able to share it with all of you.
Planning for the album has already begun. My band will consist of some of my favourite musicians: Mike Murley on saxophone, Reknee Harrett on bass, and my brother, Keith Barstow on drums. Recording will take place in April and I plan to release it in August. However, this project will be entirely self-funded, which is why you’re reading my GoFundMe page. While I plan to pour my heart and soul into this project, I need financial help to actualize it. Much of the funding will come from my own pocket, but any help I can get from friends and supporters will be so appreciated, as it will quicken the process and help create a more beautiful result. Based on the success of this fundraiser, the budget of the project will be adjusted accordingly and all funds raised will be directly put into that budget.
