Ben's Volunteer Sponsorship in Ghana

Hi, my name is Ben Bartlett and I am fundraising to take part in a school trip run by Watford Grammar School for Boys to the Ghanaian fishing town of Akortor in the summer of 2020. The trip is partnered with the Akortor Development Foundation whose main aim is to eradicate poverty in the village and improve the living conditions for residents. They have already built new medical and educational facilities in the village.

I need to fund raise £2,500 for this trip. This money will be used to pay for flights, accommodation and food, as well as being used by the Akortor Development Foundation to purchase everything needed to build future facilities and for other projects.

The main aims of this trip are as follows:

*to volunteer with the local people, especially young people, in educational and medical facilities.
*to participate in environmental work such as beach clean-ups.
*to visit Cape Coast to learn about the history of the country.
*to learn about  problems relating to extreme poverty and work with residents to improve their quality of life.
*to provide the residents with new skills in health awareness and  employment training etc.

Any donations, big or small would be greatly appreciated, Thank your for taking the time to read this.
