Ben Maloney Memorial Fund

Many people have called and messaged asking us to set up a fund for Ben's wife and child. We were hesitant, but friends wanted a way to reach out to Ben's wife and baby other than flowers. We are so blessed to have so many loving friends and family. The outpouring of love and prayers has meant so much to us. We are heartbroken and cannot imagine a world without Ben. Ben had a larger than life personality, a huge heart, and loved God, his family, music and life. He was excited about his future with his wife and son. Ben Maloney passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 31, leaving behind his wife Kacey and his one-year-old son Liam. They had just celebrated Liam's first birthday, and shared many happy days with Liam at the Zoo, the Aquarium,and the Coke museum. On the evening before Ben passed away he and Kacey went out to have dinner on the Marietta Square while I kept little Liam. When he arrived about 10:30 to pick up Liam, he said, "Mom,  I've got something to tell you. Kacey and I are expecting another baby." They were surprised and a little unprepared but excited to learn that they were having another precious child. I told him I was thrilled and that God makes no mistakes with timing! He was happy to know that Liam would have a sibling so close in age. He spoke about how precious Liam was. He said what a miracle Liam was and that he had changed his life. Then he gave me a big hug and told me how much he loved me and Steve and that he had the best brothers anyone could ask for, mentioning each one by name.
As he went out the door he turned and gave me one of his huge beautiful smiles. I am so thankful that Ben was able to share this wonderful news with me that night, and that I was able to see him just a few hours before he passed away in his sleep. God is so merciful.  If you feel led to bless Kacey, Liam and the new baby, I know she would be grateful for help with the cost of his funeral expenses and the children's future. Ben was so young and did not have life insurance. Please keep us all in your prayers and we struggle to come to terms with this. We can take solace in the fact that we know Ben was a Believer in Christ. He accepted Christ as a child and continued to seek him throughout his life, even during the tough times. We know that you are in the presence of God. We can't imagine this world without you. We are going to miss your million dollar smile and huge heart. We are going to miss your big laugh, your calls, your texts and especially your hugs. We love you Ben, and we will make sure that we keep your memory alive for Liam and that he knows how much you loved him. We love you forever, love you for always. And we look forward to one day being reunited.
