Help Ben & Marty Build Their Long Deserved Home
Ben and Marty are beautiful souls who have devoted their lives to sharing support, care, and compassion for those in the greatest need – and now we hope to give something meaningful back to them!
Since the beginning of their marriage, they have intentionally lived at the center of impoverished communities in order to be a source of light to many. From Ireland to New Haven, Ben and Marty have been known for their open door and open arms, always inviting the neighborhood into their home for a meal or a shoulder to cry on. They have been parents to the lost and uncertain. They have taught people of all different ages, ethnicities, and means what it means to be loved.
Ben and Marty have truly given everything they have to others – and we’re looking to raise money for a lasting gift in their honor! As they settle into a new chapter in Maine, Ben and Marty need to build an addition to their humble home and furnish it with items that are, for the first time ever, not hand-me-downs. Because of breathing needs, Ben has slept in a recliner next to Marty’s twin bed for over 15 years. It’s time to reunite this couple in a place of love and great gratitude for all they have done.
They have some funds set aside to make this renovation happen, but it will only get them 50% of the way there. The $60,000 we need to raise will go towards:
- Various construction and building costs for the addition, including the foundation, framing, siding, roofing, windows, and more.
- Heating and insulation
- A handicap accessible bathroom
- Furniture, flooring, and decorations
- A new bed/mattress with an adjustable base, so Ben & Marty can finally sleep in the same bed
- Kitchen appliances
