Bell-Jeff Robotics Team Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hello from Bell-Jeff Team 11513!

We are Team 11513 from Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank, California and we need your help to continue the Robotics program! We are proud to be the first Robotics team at our school to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Last year we only had six active members of the team with little to no experience, yet we learned how to build & program our robot which we named the Blue Eyes White Dragon, an early version of which is shown in the photo below. Because of the team's lack of experience, we couldn't even get our robot to move during the first competition! If it wasn't for the generosity of a student from another team, the Blue Eyes White Dragon would have been stuck for another week. As time went on our inexperience faded and our robot evolved as we learned more and more from competing and working with other teams. When the final competition rolled around we were able to put out our best performance to date, finishing 14th out of 25 in the C1 League. Not bad for a rookie team!

Our Goals:

We want to inspire other incoming students to be leaders in the world of STEM. By improving our Robotics team and supplying us with the tools we need, we will be able to be more competitive and thus be more motivated to pursue similar STEM interests.

Some obstacle we overcame:

• Very little time to work when compared to other sports/activities.
• Supervisors with little experience in robotics and FIRST.

Where will the money go?

Your money will help us cover the following:
• Registration fees
• Transportation costs
• T-shirts
• Additional parts (gears, servos, x-rails, wheels, etc)
• Display boards

We Thank You

We greatly appreciate any donation to this team which will allow us to create a competitive robot, travel and compete.

Thank you so much for reading our story!

All donations go directly to Bellarmine-Jefferson High School (with the principal Mr. Stumpf as the beneficiary). The Carlson family is managing this GoFundMe fundraiser. Tim Carlson is a senior at Bell-Jeff, the captain of the robotics team, and hopes to study biomedical engineering in college.
