Dear BC Tennis Friends,
I know you are all as sad about tennis being cancelled as we are. It felt like the season had just gotten started again after the previous shutdown. We would like to take this moment and recognize tennis director Brian Nash and all the incredible coaches we are blessed with at the club. They have all done such a phenomenal job in putting in place procedures to safely getting us back to tennis. We now understand that these coaches will be losing their income for at least 4 weeks and possibly longer.
We have such a vibrant tennis community at the Bellevue Club and we have all forged many strong friendships that would never have been had it not been for this community. We think that the core of this community is the wonderful coaches and staff supporting us and going the extra mile in organizing clinics and other events. In an effort to keep this core team together through these rough times, we have decided to reach out to You in an effort to raise funds to keep our tennis coaches financially afloat.
We have set up a GoFundMe account, supervised by Johan Bjorklund, Terry Lundeen, and Christine Bloch. Our aim is to raise $21,000, which is just enough to support those coaches who need the help the most. Specifically, the funds will be targeted to those full-time coaches that rely on their Bellevue Club employment as their families’ primary source of income. The money will be gifted out directly to the coaches once we reach the target amount.
Please note that your gift will NOT be tax deductible. Also, please note that Brian at his request will not be receiving any funding.
If you can, please join us in making a donation to keep our coaches and staff financially whole through these tough times and through the holiday period. It’s time for us to step up and Serve them now!
