My friends daughter Bellarose was born at 26 weeks and six days via emergency C-section on January 3, 2018 weighing one pound and six ounces. Due to being born so prematurely Bellarose has a long journey ahead of her. She has a hole in the heart which has caused for her to have a heart murmer, requires a feeding tube, a CPAP breathing machine and recently had to transfer hospitals in order to have a ventricular drain sugery done due to having fluid on the brain (Hydrocephalus). She is currently too little for a partial or full shunt but the drain was the only option since drawling fluids off of her spinal region did not work. Bellarose gets weekly head ultra sounds to monitor the bleeding on the left side of her brain which may cause developmental delays.
Any funds to help with the cost of medical bills would help this family out signigicantly. The family has three other children at home ranging from the ages of five to fourteen. The husband is working five days a week and any overtime that is available for a company that he has worked at for over eighteen years. Yes they do have insurance but insurance does not cover everything. Bellarose has physical therapy starting soon but the future is still uncertain. What we do know is that she will be in the hospital for several more months but we do not know what other surgical procedures she may endure. My friend travels an hour and twenty minutes one way from SC to Charlotte NC multiple times a week to visit and spend time with her baby which reqires alot of gas.
Any amount is never too small and always gratefully appericiated! It can go a long way when covering the cost of medical bills, and gas!
