Bella's Blood Transfusions and Hospitalization

Donation protected
Meet Bella, a wonderful 5 year old Boxer spayed female. I am reaching out to humbly ask for help to pay for Bella's rising Veterinary and Inpatient hospital bills and medication. Bella became ill suddenly and tests show she has a rare condition causing her immune system to attack itself, leaving her platelets so low that it causes internal bleeding and without immediate, aggressive medical intervention a dog with this can not survive. A little about us so you know this is a sincere plea for assistance. My name is Jan and Bella is my Grand-doggy. Bella lives with my son and soon to be daughter-in-law who are WONDERFUL fur-baby parents who are getting married in  just 9 short weeks. Bella's human-parents are my son, an Army Veteran, serving one tour in Iraq, working for the same company he began at after his Military service and College graduation. His fianceè is currently a full time College student at Sierra College, graduating this spring and working part time, then will continue on to get her Bachelor's degree in Wildlife law enforcement. They are great, hard working people who love animals, and who just got hit with this Very rare occurance which arose suddenly and are not only faced with the gnawing worry over the outcome for their "baby", but also about the mounting Vet bills that hospitalization, treatment and medications bring. On Thursday, March 28th, Bella was showing signs of being quite lethargic and not wanting to eat or drink. They immediately knew something was seriously wrong because Bella, being a young, energetic Boxer who wags her entire body when they get home,  just layed on the sofa, barely raising her head. They rushed her to VCA Sacramento Veterinary Hospital in Rancho Cordova California, where she has been diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. This is a condition where her Imune system basically attacks itself. Often, this condition doesn't have a specific cause, and requires hospitalization, blood and platelet transfusions, and medications to give her a fighting chance to get well. She is bleeding internally due to very low platelets needed for clotting.  She is having blood transfusions to increase her platelets to stop the internal bleeding and will be hospitalized several days for treatment, then hopefully, will then be strong enough to come home on medications including some to help her body make platelets. Bella was a rescue, adopted by my son's fianceè and her family at approximately 1 year old in 2015. She has happily lived with her and my son in a  house with a great big back yard to play in where she loves long walks and playing with her 2-legged cousin. I know it is a tough time of year to ask people to open their hearts and donate to help with veterinarian bills, but with their upcoming wedding, these Vet Hospital bills are going to mount up quickly and any help would be very much appreciated. If you can donate to help Bella that would be such a blessing to this young, hard working family. I also ask that if you could also share this page, and remember Bella in your prayers, this too will mean very much to all of us. Bella says Thank You!!! Thank you and God Bless from Bella's Grandma & Grandpa
