Bella Vista Community Skatepark

Bella Vista park is a public park with numerous attractions for kids and families throughout the neighborhood. Located in the Bella Vista neighborhood in Oakland, ca. There is a community garden, playground, athletic field, basketball courts, dog park, and d.i.y. (Do it yourself) skate park. This park is used for all activities.
Over the past three years we have built and maintained a number of skate obstacles for the ever growing youth skateboarding community. We have provided a safe area for kids to learn and express themselves through skateboarding. We have had overwhelmingly positive feedback from neighborhood residents as well as the parks department.
Three years ago we pooled together our own funds to maintain this area. Last year we decided to reach  out to the community for any help we could acquire. The outcome was astounding!! with help from you , we raised more than 1,000$ and even more in material!! I cannot express in words how much we appreciate the support. THANK YOU !!!!  We hope to raise even more this year from the connections we have made along the way.  The kids, and skateboarding community, possess and undying level of gratitude towards having a safe area to practice and progress at what the love to do. Skateboarding has always been, and always will be, and accepting culture. No matter your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, social status, etc. skateboarding accepts you for who you are. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!! Any donations are welcome. Whether its money, building materials, and/or help reconstruction is highly appreciated!!! Anything big or small is admired and respected.

Along with this gofundme, we will be hosting a fundraising event on May 11th, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the park. Everyone is welcome to come hang out at the park that day, and if you skate bring your board!! We will have a dj spinning vinyl, as well as a raffle/ giving away product to kids donated from local companies, as well as supporters we have connected with outside of the bay.

Here is a list of supplies needed for this years reconstruction:

 sheets of 4x8 3/8ths plywood
 sheets of 4x8 3/4ths plywood
 sheets 4x8 masonite/ sk8lite
52’ by 12’’ sheet metal (any lengths we can cut to proper dimensions)
2/4’s
2/6’s
metal coping, flat bar material. (also looking for welders to make a metal flat bar.)
