Bella’s FHO and spay surgery

We rescued this sweet 6 month old pittie girl 3 weeks ago. She was abandoned, malnourished and injured. We noticed she was limping on her back leg, putting no pressure and immediately took her to the vet. X rays were done and we learned that she needed surgery on her hip. Unfortunately, we believe that is why she was abandoned, and it all made sense.

FHO surgery is when the “ball” of the femur bone that goes into the hip socket is broken/fractured creating pain and lack of movement. The surgery removes the “ball” of the femur so the leg can have more mobility.

We do not have a rescue group to help us financially, as the Texas animal situation has not gotten better and all rescues have been maxed out. We can’t sit around and do nothing for this sweet baby, especially since she is in clear pain. We have been paying out of pocket with the help of amazing neighbors and followers. We want her to get the help she needs and in order to do so, the orthopedic surgeon suggests we do FHO on her back leg so she won’t continue to suffer. The Vet has told us they will be able to schedule her in for her surgery on the 23rd. We are praying we can raise the funds by that time and get her in as quickly as possible.

As of now the vet has provided pain medication and anti inflammatories until surgery, she cannot play because no weight should be put on that leg. I can’t stress to you guys how amazing this girl is. She deserves it.
