Believing in Stella

If you're reading our story then you are fortunate enough to have some connection with Stella Jennings. My name is Dayna Morgan and our daughter Izzy and Stella are thick as thieves. There is a whole group of girls that ran around together and caused mischief, but these two had a particular escapade I want to share.
In May 2020 Stella and her partner in crime, Izzy Fleming, decided they would do a marathon. This was decided on a Monday, that following Friday, they set out on their adventure. Natalie Graham didn't put the miles under her feet, but was their biggest cheerleader along the way.
Albeit they did not run the whole thing, they completed the 26.2 miles. They tracked their adventure throughout Seattle. They started in Leschi neighborhood, down to Seward Park, back through Madison Park, up to Volunteer Park, over to Gas Works and back to Leschi. They were sore and tired for many days to follow.
A few weeks later Stella started complaining of stomach pains. She was seen in local ER's and thought to have gastritis. When this continued, Jody (Stella's mom) took her to Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH).
On June 6, 2020 Stella was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of B-Cell Lymphoma. Stella however is a tough young lady and is fighting hard.
We have decided to support Stella and her family any way we can. We are arranging a run to raise money and awareness for Seattle Children's Hospital. With the pandemic people are not able to go visit Stella and show support. So, we are arranging a virtual run to show support and raise money in her name. The team at SCH has been incredible. We are blessed to have such an institution in our community.
We are working with the members of the Eugene Marathon as they are owned by a local Seattle family They will help us with training and guide us through doing different distances. The virtual race will be in June 2021 (details to follow) so you can support Stella from anywhere.
Our team is called "Strutten'4Stella". Thank you in advance for your love, support and commitment to helping others going forward as they deal with the struggle of illness and loss.

UPDATE: On January 14, 2021 at 1030 in the morning Stella passed away at Seattle Children's. We will continue our pledge to raise money for SCH in Stella's name. We will be hosting the run in her name in June and that will be when we present the hospital with our fundraising efforts.
