Believe With Carin Johnson

This page is dedicated to my loving big sister Carin Johnson. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and the battle has just begun. This is her story:

Hi, my name is Carin Johnson. I recently turned 40 years old, in July. I'm a single Christian Mother of a 2 1/2-year-old daughter—her name is Calia. She is the eye of my tiger, in this unexpected journey that I am now led to face upon while being guided by the lord above. My Mom, who, my other half, my heartbeat, and best friend, passed away unexpectedly just this past Memorial Day. I feel her presence watching over me, and I feel comfort knowing she wouldn’t want me to leave my little girl just yet.

 On January 15, my entire world was flipped upside down. With 14 known tumors, after multiple tests and a week stay in the hospital, my Doctor confirmed I had Cancer, Stage 4 Melanoma to be exact. 
Prior to January 1st, I had a clean bill of health. I was fluffy but healthy. I always kept up with yearly checkups, blood work, etc. I feel like I am living an out of body experience, this is so surreal. 

Now for the part, I need your help with. Unfortunately, I will be out of work soon, My Father will be retiring to help care for me and my daughter. One of my Brother lives with us and will help as much as possible, both financially and around the house. I have a huge family, and the emotional support system in place is second to none in my heart. I have family members taking weeks off work at a time, driving me around, cooking, cleaning, the list goes on. But, at the end of the day, we are a household going from three incomes, to one. Between legal fees and money to set up my daughter’s future (God Forbid it’s my time), groceries to feed 4 mouths, car payments, and all the other crazy costs involved in raising a daughter in this world, I can’t help but wonder how we will get through this. Without work, I will eventually lose my medical insurance which means it will come out of pocket

I’m doing everything I can to discard this horrible hand I’ve been dealt. I need your help. I feel it is my duty to share my story with the world for education purposes, self-awareness and personally, as a self-help release for me sharing my journey.  I’m an open book with nothing to hide. I will continually be updating you all on my journey, through my blog.  It is going to be a ride, with triumphs and struggles, so hold on tight.  Please pray for me, as I can’t leave my Tiger!
