Dear friends and family, as some of you know, on Jan. 2nd my mother was in a car accident and has since been in the hospital in a quadriplegic state. Her recovery, although progressing, is extremely slow.
Medical insurance in the US covers a bare minimum and the costs are really beginning to add up and will continue to do so for quite some time. My parents live far away from their family and my father is 76 years old, therefore he needs to hire help to care for my mother when she returns home. They need to reform the house to accomodate my mother's new needs, pay for adaptive equipment as well as therapeutic treatments.
Unfortunetly, a large sum of my parent's savings went into funding my mother's time abroad caring for her sister, who passed away from a brain tumor last December. Therefore, I am asking those around me to please pitch in, if you can, in this time of need. Every little bit goes a long way.
