We desire to let the body of Christ be what it is designed to be in our world: a body that takes care of its parts.
Kathy McKellar has been a wonderful addition to our family for almost 10 years. She and my husband worked together. Kathy started coming over to our house when we had parties for our friends and, as they say, the rest is history. Our daughter even refers to her as "Aunt Kathy".
Kathy's home has now come into a state of needing some major repairs. She has lived in the same house for many years. When a house has been a part of so many beautiful memories it can experience changes as time passes.
The concrete slab that the house rests on has cracked. She noticed an issue when she discovered water in certain parts of the house coming up from underneath (not a leak in the ceiling).
Unfortunately, NONE of the needed repairs are covered by insurance due to this being part of the natural aging of a home. The problem is fixable; however, quite expensive.
The process will require:
-all carpet to be removed from the house
-ALL furniture/items in the house to be placed in temporary storage
-foundation to be repaired
-then new carpet/ flooring will have to be replaced
Now, we are asking from the bottom of our hearts for the body to be the body. We are called to be His hands and feet but now let's be His shoulders and back as we bear one another's burden.
Kathy has to let the company know her decision to proceed ASAP! Kathy is on a fixed income/on disability due to her failing vision(RP.)The responsibility falls solely on her as her husband, Sam, passed away nine years ago.
Please help us pay this off completely.
