BEHS-XC memorial in honor of Josh

Greetings to you, a friend of Josh Simpson. It has been six months since we lost Josh, but he is not forgotten. A project has been in the works to create a permanent memorial of Josh and his accomplishments as a high school track and cross country runner, and to celebrate the achievements of Josh and his teammates.
The Burlington-Edison cross country teams from 2005-2009 were without a doubt the most successful teams in the history of the program. They set a standard of excellence for future BEXC athletes to aspire toward. Josh and his teammates were incredibly talented and hard-working, putting in hours, days, and weeks of training during the season and off-season. Much of their training was done on the trails at the Skagit Regional Airport which has also been the site of our home cross country race course for the past 17 years.
To commemorate Josh’s life and the achievements of him and his teammates, a sign has been designed and will soon be permanently installed at the airport running trails near the Ovenell Road parking lot. We are hoping you will consider donating to help fund the cost of the $1000 sign. Donations of any amount will be gratefully accepted. If we exceed our fundraising goal, excess contributions will be contributed to the Josh Simpson Scholarship fund that has been initiated by Jim and Tanya Simpson.
