My name is Jessica Taylor-Bearman and I am the author of A Girl Behind Dark Glasses and featured in the incredible film Unrest . I suffer with severe M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), and have done since 2006. This book is about the very severe spectrum of M.E, when I was unable to move, eat, talk or do anything. I just lay suffering greatly in a quiet hospital room for four years. The book was written through coded diary entries of my diary I made with my family called Bug.

I need to raise £2500 to afford the PR and promotional side of raising awareness of the book. One of my main aims is to become a 'voice to the voiceless' sufferers. It is so important that we get the very severe side of M.E into the public eye, it's rarely seen in media because these sufferers are voiceless - literally trying to survive every day. I believe it is essential to understand M.E in all it's different spectrums, so I want to try and get this book out as far and wide as possible. For this to happen, I need your help!

The book and my story will present to the world a very personal account of what thousands of severe M.E sufferers encounter, whilst battling this debilitating illness. By sharing my story and struggle during my most severe presentation of an illness and disability that is often hidden due to the very nature of this cruel, isolating disease.

The world needs to know what suffering goes on in the Worlds of One Room of the 25% of M.E sufferers who are classed as having very severe M.E. This book and the story of the struggle of one individual can raise awareness to the general public of the lack of knowledge and understanding by medical professionals and the wider community.
