Hey, this is Klajdi Tsano, a visual artist from Athens (klajditsano.com) bringing artpiece at BM2025. This is my second time bringing art to Black Rock City, following the overwhelming response to last year’s piece. This year, I’m creating three handcrafted wooden strollers, sculptural carriers of the pre-verbal self - scattered across the desert as quiet companions for those who find them. They invite presence, reflection, and a return to something essential.

I’m raising funds to build and transport the work: gathering weathered wood, fabricating the structures, laser-engraving embedded texts, installing solar-powered lighting, and delivering the finished pieces to the playa.

The artwork centers on the encounter and non-verbal communication with the self. This self resides within us, rooted in infancy. Specifically, the work consists of three wooden sculptures , functional infant/child strollers, scattered across the desert. These strollers evoke the state of infancy: the raw demand for life, vulnerability, and the early formation of the unconscious. The placement of the strollers are variable and left to chance.Those who encounter them are invited to wander with them through the desert, a gesture of introspection and transformation. A chance to recall or awaken feelings, experiences or needs not yet met. The number three is based on the triangular form, symbolizing creation, balance, and the relational experience of the world. Relationships unfold triadically, where the third point is the relation itself, the path between.

Infants do not speak and yet they absorb the essence of life directly. Have we spoken enough? Perhaps words are no longer what we need.
