Beep, Beep - Help Us, Get A Bus!

Help Us, Get A Bus! is an initiative created by Palm Beach Share-N-Care, to raise funds to purchase a 12-seater standard coach bus. This initiative will hugely support Palm Beach local seniors by travelling them to and from the center’s weekly activities. The mission is to help bring the community back together!

For over 40 years Palm Beach Share-N-Care has been one of the main meeting grounds for the senior citizens of Palm Beach, Gold Coast. With weekly activities including Jolly Seniors (hugely popular!), Bingo, 500 Cards, Social Bridge, Chess & Scrabble, Monday Exercise and Dance Classes. These activities are not to miss!

However, with the increasing numbers of elderly unable to drive, potentially losing their licenses - if they do drive to the center, and the lack of reliable-and-fast taxis; the activity numbers have significantly decreased.

Palm Beach Share-N-Care’s community mission is to help prevent the elderly from isolation and depression and provide fun activities to enjoy.

And not being able to get easy transport for our local senior citizens has been deflating. Share-N-Care Project Manager Therese says, “We often see our senior citizens either waiting for a taxi to take them down the road, which can take up to an hour, or hear that they haven’t attended because they’re stuck at home”.

Help Us, Get A Bus! Initiative is a call-out for donations to help purchase a 12-seater bus to travel seniors to-and-from Palm Beach Share-N-Care’s weekly activities. This will help alleviate Senior isolation and depression and to integrate elderly back into the local community.
