Nonprofit organization founded by Whitney Hicks, wife of former Kansas City Chiefs Defensive End Eric Hicks. Whitney was born and raised in Sour Lake, Texas where residents experienced catastrophic flooding brought by Hurricane Harvey.
While many people rush to provide immediate needs following a natural disaster, Beds For Texans offers a long term solution to aid disaster victims caught in limbo during the reconstruction period.
Providing beds is crucial to their recovery mentally, physically, emotionally and financially. When faced with having to start from scratch, often times folks are unable to afford new beds, resulting in families sleeping on floors until they can make ends meet.
This region, among many others, is prone to hurricanes and tropical storms. When a hurricane such as Harvey hits, these communities are forced to endure unimaginable living conditions, health hazards and financial strain before even getting the chance to address the emotional toll.
Beds For Texans raises funds to purchase new beds online specific to the needs of each individual family that receives our services. These beds are shipped directly to their homes.
