Becky’s Bunch

It’s been a year since our Beck was diagnosed with breast cancer. There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same from this point forward. Moments that seemingly divide time into two parts; before and after. Our moment was just that. 12 months ago we heard the word ‘cancer’ for the first time and our little snow globe world has been turned upside down ever since. You see... when someone you love suddenly becomes the face of cancer you and everyone in your family is diagnosed too. We’ve all been in this fight, each and every one of us has dealt and is continuing to process this reality in our own individual ways. Most days Becky is the strongest of us all. She has been the rock of this family from day 1 and I have no doubt she will remain just as strong (if not stronger) as we face this giant head on. This giant you see... keeps growing more ugly heads, the enemy is trying to take something from us that we love so dearly. But little does he know that we serve an almighty Heavenly Father who is and was and is still to come. He IS our ultimate healer and we stand strong in our faith that God is going to give her enough time to see her youngest son graduate high school. We BELIEVE in the knowledge that He has instilled in Becky’s competent medical team and we are HOPEFUL in the latest and greatest treatment options that are now available to her. Time is what we need. We know there is no cure. We’ve been given the timeline and glimpses into how this journey could unfold. But I know a mighty work is being done here. I know my God has not brought us this far only to let us succumb to this disease now. God is not through with this yet!

Please, as we continue to focus on one another and fight this fight side by side, please consider a monetary donation to help alleviate some of the tremendous financial burdens Becky is being plagued with. She is the single mom to 4 sons; two of which are still living at home. The youngest just 14.  She has been through 16 rounds of chemo, 35 radiation treatments, a double mastectomy, partial reconstruction and is currently undergoing top of the line hormonal therapy and oral chemo. We have traveled to New York and sought out the professional opinions of some of the best cancer fighters in the nation. If current treatments fail we are looking at clinical trials in NY. My point in divulging all of this is to elaborate on just how extensive the need is. The bills are unimaginable and the future holds further expenses. There will come a point in time when Becky must go on disability and yet still support her sons and somehow continue to pay for her home, living expenses, vechicles, and medical bills. Without the generosity of this community, our friends & family, it will literally prove impossible.

From the bottom of our hearts we thank you on behalf of Becky. Surrounding her with love and support in the days, weeks, months and hopefully YEARS to come is the most important thing we can do right now. May God bless each and every one of you abundantly.

In Christ alone we stand.
