Becci's Fight Against Breast Cancer

On February 27, 2018 the Harrison family received shocking news that Becci was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the last few weeks her family has tried to wrap their heads around what this diagnosis means and the impact it will have.
The type of breast Cancer Becci has is called “Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma” Triple Negative breast cancer means the three most common types of hormone receptors that fuel the breast cancer growth are not present in the tumor, meaning the cancer tumor will not respond to typical hormone therapies. Triple negative breast cancer is very aggressive and Becci’s doctors have rushed to start her on chemotherapy in hopes to begin shrinking the very large tumor and preventing it from spreading.
Becci’s treatment plan will begin with 16 weeks of chemotherapy beginning March 14 and ending June 27. During that time she will be traveling to Stanford University for consultation for bi-lateral mastectomy. Stanford Women’s cancer center is nationally recognized women’s oncology center specializing in breast cancer treatment. After the surgery is completed, Becci will undergo weeks of radiation treatment.
Becci’s family is asking for continued prayers and support through this very long journey. Becci is dearly loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, friends and many co-workers. The family is so grateful to those that have shared kind words or gestures to support Becci and her family during this difficult time.
We are reaching out to her amazing network of family and friends for support and prayers for her family. We want Becci to receive the best cancer care possible and not to worry about the impact of medical bills.
