On  October 9, 2017, Becca went in for a routine outpatient surgery to remove her gallbladder. This was supposed to be a relatively straightforward procedure with minimal recovery time; however, due to several unforeseen complications, Becca was required to stay overnight in the hospital for 6 days before being sent home.

Later on October 21, Becca was readmitted to the hospital to address an 18cm cyst around her pancreas and remained in the hospital for an additional 12 days. During this time, Becca was also put on a feeding tube to give her pancreas a rest. She eventually went home for home nursing care but was required to continue using the feeding tube outside of the hospital.

Then on November 9, Becca was admitted to the hospital a third time with very low hemoglobin levels (which can indicate an internal bleeding), and she was kept in the hospital for monitoring.

Becca has been in the hospital for a total of 20 days and has endured countless CT scans and MRIs as well as significant lung drainage. Because a large amount of liquid is continuously being pumped into her body, she has also experienced dramatic swelling and fluid build up. After Thanksgiving, she will be readmitted to the hospital yet again to drain the cyst and the fluild that has built up around her kidneys and abdomen.

As of November 20, Becca has not been able to work for over 8 weeks and will likely not be able to return to her job until 2018. Becca's mom, Jan, has also moved from Georgia to California to live with Becca and assist her with everyday activities as she goes through this unimaginably difficult time.

Incredibly, despite her numerous physical challenges, Becca has remained dedicated to promoting the causes that are important to her including charities and organizations that help homeless and abandoned animals.

Along with prayers and positive thoughts, what Becca needs most right now is assistance with covering her growing medical expenses and everyday costs until she is able to return to work.

Becca is not the type of person to ask for this type of financial assistance on her own behalf, but I know that she has many incredible friends who are eager to help in any way that they can. No amount is too small and every dollar counts as she tries her best to remain hopeful and optimistic during an otherwise mentally and physically painful time.

Thank you in advance for all of your love and support!

*Note: Becca's mother, Janice, will be withdrawing the funds raised through this campaign and transferring them to Becca's account as Becca is currently in the hospital and therefore, unable to do so herself.
