Becca's memorial fund

My friend Becca was recently diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects mainly young people. The main way to treat this type of cancer is by surgically removing as chemotherapy does not work to treat this type of cancer. It is located in her vertabrae in her neck and there's only been one other documented case with it being in the same location as hers that her doctor has seen. She has already gone in for 1 surgery and will be going in August 4th for a 2nd surgery which will incapacitate her as they will be cutting through her jaw which will potentially leave her with a breathing tube and possibly a feeding tube while she recovers. During this time she has been unable to work and will be unable to work as she goes through surgeries, treatments, and recovery.

She is a single mom  with 2 young boys who has worked hard up until this point to be able to provide them with everything they could need and we know back to school is coming so they will need school clothes and supplies. Her car also recently died on her so she will need help getting a reliable vehicle and getting it on the road to get back and forth to her appointments when she is feeling well enough to drive. She's currently been staying at her mother's house and will also need help with funds to get an apartment for herself and her boys when she is feeling better. She is also going to need help with the cost of medications, medical supplies that she will need after surgery, help with the cost of transportation, parking, etc as her appointments are all in Boston. 


UPDATE:

Becca passed away peacefully today March 09, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Anything donated will go towards her remaining expenses and her children. Thank you for taking the time to read her story, for donating, and for sharing her page.
