Beaux's Bicep Repair

Spende geschützt

Friday morning was the best training day of my life. I snatched a lifetime PR that would have gotten me a silver medal at the 2017 National Championships (147kg) so needless to say, I felt pretty amazing.

After my morning training I went to a local gymnastics facility to shoot some footage for my members. I was really excited about working with another young fitness entrepreneur and cross-promoting his gym to my members. We were doing some gymnastics drills for the handstand.

If you've never been to a gymnastics facility, it looks like an adult playground. Immediately, I found the high rings. After a few quick muscle ups, I attempted a move that I practised years ago. The Back-Lever. As I extended my legs and pressed my hands down I felt a strange release and what I heard next makes me sick, even today as I think back.

R-rip.

The noise is still nauseating. The red and blue crash pads that lined the gym vividly scroll through my head. The moment seems to be on repeat no matter how much I avoid the thought.

I fell off the rings sure that I had done something terrible. I looked up at Troy and Greg who looked at me in disbelief, "was that your arm?" They could hear it from 20 feet away.

I ruptured my bicep tendon at the elbow. The tendon detached from the bone completely. As I write this, 2 days before surgery, the muscle still hangs low, close to the elbow. Every day I wait to get it repaired increases the likelihood that complications will arise and I will lose the ability to completely lock out my elbow. In weightlifting, the elbow lockout is very important.

The best course of action is to surgically reattach my bicep tendon to the radius (arm bone). With this surgery, it's likely I will come back to 100% within a few months.

Without it, I'll never be able to compete again. The most I'll ever get back is 70% strength.

I have a real opportunity to be one of the nations best weightlifters and this little tear isn't going to stop me. The cost of the tear might though.

As a small fitness business owner, I don't make much money. My partner and I make just enough to pay rent, eat and keep the lights on. Needless to say, I couldn't afford to pay my premiums for health insurance - I tried, but defaulted.

Sadly, I must ask for your help. Some of you put your generous support behind me as I made a shot at the American Open Finals this past December where I took home a Silver Medal. For that, I am forever gracious and couldn't think to ask for anything more from you.

If you weren't a part of that, I'm asking with much humility for your help.

The quote for this costs $9000.00.  Not much, just about a cup of coffee every hour for the next 125 days. :)

If you can help me, please, my bicep needs you!

For any donation above $100 I will write a personal diet plan for your goals. I'll give you a daily caloric balance, macros, nutrient timing plan and a weekly check-in with me. In this 4 weeks, you could expect to lose roughly 10-15lbs of fat.

For any donations above $50, i'll help you with a workout program if you'd like.

Your support means the world to me. If you are unable to help me financially, i'm cool with "likes" & "comments" :)
