No amount is too small, please donate and share the link with your social media family, church and friends.On the early evening of December 17, 2019 My beautiful daughter Vanessa and my grandson Robert who is 14yrs old were involved in a very serious crash that happened along I-10 East just outside of Van Horn, TX. This tragic crash involved a semi-truck and my daughter's car. My daughter and grandson were taken by life flight to El Paso Trauma Center where I am sitting with them now in Intensive Care.
My daughter endured serious abdominal crushing injuries requiring the removal of (2) two sections of her intestines, major head injury resulting in brain swelling and coma (6) strokes, a broken right femur, (2) broken arms and her face and skull was separated into four separate parts requiring almost total reconstruction and was placed on ventilator to ease her lungs and help her breathe.
My grandson endured serious head injury resulting in brain swelling and coma, off and on seizing for 45 minutes, broken right femur, broken neck (C2) cervical vertebra requiring his C1 vertebra to be fused with C2 and C3 vertebra and was placed on ventilator to ease his lungs and help him breathe.
In the days and hours that followed my daughter endured 6 major reconstructive surgeries. The head injuries have claimed the vision in her right eye. My grandson endured 2 major surgeries involving the fusion of the cervical vertebra, femur bone and removal of glass embedded in his skull. The multiple seizing and extensive head injuries and brain swelling have caused scaring in his brain affecting normal brain function. They will need extensive recovery and rehabilitative treatment even after they are released from the hospital.
I came to Texas to be with my daughter and grandson as soon as I was informed of this tragedy. I work and live in California and although my employer is holding my position, I have no funding coming in. I have a 14 yr. Old daughter who is the youngest currently being looked after by my son in California. We are asking for donations to help offset these unexpected living expenses away from home, Transportation, hotel stay, food and medical bills not covered by insurance, all while trying to maintain our home in California. Many of you have reached out and asked how you may help.
