Beau is my friend Chris's three year old pitt bull.
He is the sweetest, best behaved little guy. Yesterday morning he managed to get out of their yard (6ft privacy fence that he can apparently jump over) and was hit by a car. Chris was at work and didn't know until yesterday afternoon that he was out. The person who hit him did not stop or try to help him in any way. Instead, he was left stuck in between two fences on Harborview Road with a completely dislocated pelvis and ankle, in pain, for over eight hours while everyone was looking for him. It's unimaginable to think of what he went through. Neighbors finally found him behind their fence when they heard him crying in response.
Beau was taken to the vet but there wasn't much good news other than the very lucky fact that he has little to no internal bleeding. He is going to need an orthopedic surgery to completely reconstruct one ankle and put pins and plates in the other to give him a fighting chance of ever walking again.
Unfortunately, this surgery costs over $7,000 and up to $10,000. Beau is a very loved dog and with whatever help we can get, we are trying to raise this money to get him on the road to recovery as soon as possible. We have a matter of days to make this happen. Please help any way that you can. Any amount is appreciated more than you may realize and if you can't donate, please SHARE!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
