At some point, elevating people from material poverty has to be about them making money.  The old adage, "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a night, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime" applies well here.    In a community where few people are educated and unemployment is rampant, it can be difficult to rise above and produce a living that sustains self and family.

City of Lights desires to provide entrepreneurial training and microloans for 6 small businesses beginning this Fall.  Our aim is to raise $300 to help start each business.  Our total budget is $2000 to help manage transfer and administrative fees.

Please prayerfully consider helping us reach this goal so that the people of the Beaudouin community can obey the following commands in Scripture.

"Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need."    Ephesians 4:28 (ESV)

"But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."      1 Timothy 5:8 (ESV)
