Beatriz Cruz-Breast Cancer Survivor

Hey everyone, I'm Beatriz and I’m 25 years old. I've started this page because my life has taken a turn that I would not have expected to happen so soon at my age. On February 14th they found a cancerous tumor in my breast which resulted in having to get a double mastectomy/reconstruction surgery which was scheduled for March 13th. On April 10th (today), I had my second surgery to install a chemo port, and will undergo chemo therapy for the next following year while continuing my breast reconstruction. This process is expected to take 2 years to complete and praying that it never comes back again.


I'm sure you all could imagine this whole process has not only been emotionally draining but sadly, financially too. Unfortunately, my professional life and most physical activity was put on pause in order to recover. However, my medical & personal bills have not. I've been out of work since this process began and it is expected that I will be out of work for another 2 months. I never imagined being in this type of situation and my family does what they can to help me through this financial struggle... but I'm afraid to say, we are still falling short.
My step-father is also going through very serious medical treatment with diabetes and his heart and has his own high medical bills.  We are limited to having only one car in a family of 6 thanks to my hardworking boyfriend, but I am more on my own with my payments than expected.

I appreciate help from anyone who is able to provide it. I understand that not everyone is going to be able to help financially but me and my 5 cats (I am one of those crazy cat ladies) would be so grateful for all the love and prayers sent my way. Thank you all in advance for all the support and your sympathies I have already received. I am fighting strong and I want to be a survivor!
