On Monday, March 2 Tara unexpectedly received the frightening diagnose that no one wants hear... "you have ovarian cancer." Her symptoms that led her to the ER she believed to be probably gall bladder other common stomach irregularities.
The doctors did not offer a go home card, but immediately admitted and transferred her to a renowned gynocological oncologist at Medical City Hospital that same night. Three days later she successfully underwent a 6 hour extensive surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible.
For the past two weeks her recovering in the hospital has been a bit slower than expected. However, she has achieved significant milestones and hopes to go home in the next few days.
We were blessed to be connected to Dr. Munoz via the emergency room doctor at Plano Pres Hospital. This connection is and was so amazing due to the fact that he is one of leaders in the field of this type of cancer treatment. Unfortunately, we have discovered that he is out of network under Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Anthem. As result, Tara's initial out of pocket expenses of the in network and out of network care is estimated at $9,000.
As a result, I am launching a gofundme campaign to ease the financial burden and stress that this cause during a time when her focus should be on healing and recovery.
