Hi,
My name is Catarina Lopo Mendes, I live in a city in the interior of central Portugal called Castelo Branco. For more than half of my life, my Mother owned a cafe, so all my childhood was spent in this establishment. That, made me develop communication and interaction with others from a very early age, because every day I lived with countless clients. I'm a student of Design and Multimedia Degree at University of Coimbra.
In August of 2018, I overcame some insecurities and participated in the beauty contest of my city, where I was elected Miss Castelo Branco 2018. This title gave me the opportunity to be a finalist of the major national beauty contest in Portugal, Miss Queen Portugal, in which I participated and won an important and significant coronation - Miss Eco Beauty 2018. As well as being an honor, being able to represent my city at a national level, the national and international visibility of this event, allows me to be an Ambassador of Castelo Branco in the World. Thus, the result of the title won, which was a recognition and appreciation of my environmental project and my echo video, the Organization Committee of Miss Queen Portugal, invited me to be the Portuguese representative at Miss Planet International 2019, which takes place between February 16 and March 3 in Cambodia.

Miss Planet International is an important international beauty contest, which is directed towards the preservation and conservation of our Planet. Each participant, in each country, should be an active voice in the conservation of our Planet and an Ambassador for the preservation of the mankind's legacy, its culture and traditions. A woman who truly believes and supports the causes related to improve the quality of life among the populations.
At the moment, I am developing my social and environmental project that I will present at Miss Planet International 2019, as well as following a preparation plan to achieve my goals. Participation in this event implies, among other things, expenses of accommodation, food, travels between Portugal and Cambodia.
Together, with the Non-Profit Organization which promotes Miss Queen Portugal, we have already been able to raise part of the funds needed to cover these expenses. However, there's still missing 900€, which is the value that I need, in order to achieve my mission. I believe that this experience in this recognized event, as well as being able to represent my Country and my City around the World, will make me grow as a Woman.
I will be very grateful to all the people who can help.

Olá,
O meu nome é Catarina Lopo Mendes, vivo numa cidade do interior centro de Portugal, chamada Castelo Branco. Durante mais de metade da minha vida, a minha Mãe foi proprietária de um café, por isso toda a minha infância foi passada nesse estabelecimento. Isso, fez-me desenvolver desde muito cedo a comunicação e interação com os outros, pois todos os dias convivia com inúmeros clientes. Sou estudante da Licenciatura em Design e Multimédia na Universidade de Coimbra.
Em Agosto de 2018, superei algumas inseguranças e participei no concurso de beleza da minha cidade, onde fui eleita Miss Castelo Branco 2018. Este título, conferiu-me a oportunidade de ser finalista do maior concurso nacional de beleza em Portugal, o Miss Queen Portugal, no qual participei e conquistei uma importante e significativa coroação - Miss Eco Beauty 2018. Para além de ser uma honra, poder representar a minha cidade a nível nacional, a visibilidade nacional e internacional deste evento, permite-me ser uma Embaixadora de Castelo Branco no Mundo.
Assim, fruto do título conquistado, que foi um reconhecimento e valorização do meu projeto ambiental e do meu eco video, o Comité de Organização do Miss Queen Portugal, convidou-me a ser a representante Portuguesa no Miss Planet International 2019, que se realiza entre 16 de Fevereiro e 3 de Março no Camboja.

O Miss Planet International é um importante concurso internacional de beleza, que está direcionado para a preservação e conservação do nosso Planeta. Cada participante de cada País, deverá ser uma voz ativa na conservação do nosso Planeta e uma Embaixadora da preservação do legado da Humanidade, as culturas e tradições. Uma mulher, que acredita e apoia as causas relacionadas com a melhoria da qualidade de vida entre as populações.
Neste momento, estou a desenvolver o meu projeto social e ambiental que irei apresentar no Miss Planet International 2019, bem como a seguir um plano de preparação para conseguir alcançar os meus objetivos.
A participação neste evento, implica entre outras, despesas de estadia, alimentação, viagens entre Portugal e Cambodia. Em conjunto com a Organização Sem Fins Lucrativos que organiza o Miss Queen Portugal, já conseguimos angariar parte dos fundos necessários para cobrir essas despesas.
No entanto, ainda faltam cerca de 900€, que é o valor que necessito de juntar, para poder concretizar a minha missão. Acredito que esta experiência neste reconhecido evento, bem como poder representar o meu País e a minha cidade em todo o Mundo, me fará crescer enquanto Mulher.
Ficarei muito agradecida a todas as pessoas que poderem ajudar.
