Black Dance Magazine Fundraiser

Tax deductible
In today’s world, the push for minority representation is omnipresent. We see it in the entertainment world, in politics, in education: A distinct lack of inclusion, and a growing call for diverse coverage in these arenas. The dance world is no exception.

As you may know, I launched Black Dance Magazine (BDM) in 2013 with the purpose of highlighting the contributions of and exploring the issues faced by dancers of color. Through its online publication of original feature, career, industry, and news content, BDM gives a voice to underrepresented populations in the world of dance, with a focus on Black dance artists working full-time or part-time in the field.

Black Dance Magazine is a sponsored project of The International Association of Blacks in Dance, Inc., a nonprofit tax-exempt arts service organization. Contributions in support of Black Dance Magazine's work are greatly appreciated and may be made payable to IABD, Inc., earmarked for “the IABD member project of Norma Porter.” A description of the work and current project activities for which such contributions will be used are available from Norma Porter or IABD, upon request. All contributions are fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Thanks in advance for your contribution!
