Dear friends and family… I have been so mentally and emotionally disturbed over the horrendous acts of violence being committed in Palestine. More than that I have been disturbed by the apathetic response from what feels like the majority of the world. It’s very isolating and it has only added to my feelings of helplessness.
But here’s the thing, I am not helpless… none of us are. Every dollar we send, every post, picture, video we share, every moment we take out of our lives to think of all those who are suffering, every prayer, every tear we shed, every dialogue we initiate, every time we spread knowledge...we spread truth… we make a difference. Like a small pebble dropped in still waters…every act creates ripples to no logical end.
For those of you who feel disconnected from these events, my friends, you are far closer than you think. Stop drawing lines in the sand, this is not about religion, it is not about nationality, this is about humanity and that is what I am calling upon today....Please join me.
Through IRUSA, it costs approximately $780 to sponsor an orphan from Palestine for one year. This money offers financial support for education, healthcare, and livelihood.I will sponsor one child but would like to raise money to sponsor at least 4 more children. If we reach our goal of $3,120, we will be able to sponsor four orphan children.
Upon completion of our goal, I will take the raised funds released by gofundme and make a donation, on behalf of everyone who has contributed, to the IRUSA. IRUSA was founded in California as a non-profit that “strives to alleviate suffering, hunger, illiteracy, and diseases worldwide regardless of color, race, religion, or creed, and to provide aid in a compassionate and dignified manner.” Please visit their website at IRUSA.org for more information. I will post a receipt from IRUSA once the donation has been made and I will share the bio of each orphan once I recieve that information.
