Jacob Snelgrove is competing in two weeks’ time at the World Triathlon Championships in Chicago against the world’s best age group athletes. He has trained for the last two years for this one race in Chicago.
Last week Jake crashed off his bike at 45 km/hr. He is okay. His bike is not ok.
The bike is now in three parts and gone off to the scrap heap. You can’t do a triathlon without a bike. The bikes for World Class events are very expensive. Jake cannot stretch to buy a new one before he leaves for Chicago. No bike means he cannot compete. He has thought of borrowing a bike, renting a bike, or stealing a team mates!
This is where we thought we could help. Jake thinks his chances of World Champs are perhaps over. We want to send a message from his mates to show him they are not and we are behind him! To send him a message that he just has to go and do it at the World Champs.
Let’s see what we can do to surprise Jake and get him to the World Champs.
